§293.
英語原文
As οὐ cannot be used with the interrogative subjunctive, μή here sometimes introduces a question which expects an affirmative answer. See Xen. Mem. i. 2, 36, and Plat. Rep. 337 B, 554 B, quoted in 287 ; and compare Xen. Oec. iv. 4 (ibid.), where a negative answer is expected. In Plat. Rep. 552 E, we must read μὴ οἰώμεθα (not οἰόμεθα, Herm.), shall we not think ? as the answer must be affirmative (see Stallbaum's note).
