The gnomic perfect is found in the infinitive of indirect discourse in Dem. ii.18 : εἰ δέ τις σώφρων ἢ δίκαιος, παρεῶσθαι καὶ ἐν οὐδενὸς εἶναι μέρει τὸν τοιοῦτον (φησίν), such a man (he says) always thrust aside and is of no account.
