The imperative is used to express a command, an exhortation, or an entreaty. E.g.
Λέγε, speak thou. Φεῦγε, begone! Ἐλθέτω, let him come. Χαιρόντων, let them rejoice. Ἔρχεσθον κλισίην Πηληιάδεω Ἀχιλῆος. Il. i. 322. Ζεῦ, θεωρὸς τῶνδε πραγμάτων γενοῦ. Aesch. Cho. 246.
