§212.
ἄνを伴った不定詞の様々な用法(目次)
英語原文
Even the infinitive with the article occasionally takes ἄν, as in Ant. v.i, τοῦτο ὑμᾶς διδάξω, οὐ τῷ φεύγειν ἂν τὸ πλῆθος τὸ ὑμίτερον, this I will teach you, not because I would avoid your people. In Soph. Ant. 236, τῆς ἐλπίδος τὸ μὴ παθεῖν ἂν ἄλλο, the hope that I could not suffer anything else, the construction is practically that of indirect discourse (794).
